Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Sem Seyhorng

Seyhorng is 9 years old student in 3rd grade at The Wakako Hironaka School, Rovieng District, Preah Vihear Province.

Seyhorng has one brother who is in grade 2. Her father has left them since they were a baby and never cares or supports them at all. Her mother who does not have any plot of land for farming work as cleaner at the health care center. From that job she get $50 a month to support her two kids and her mother.

Seyhorng sometimes sell potato, tamarind, or other vegetable from that she makes about $0.50 to support her self since her mother is struggle to make the living. The distraction has made Seyhorng did not do well in class and behind her friends.

Her mother is very happy to have Seyhorng to school with the support from the program.
