Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Chea Bunny

Chea Bunny is an 8 year- old student in Grade 2 at at The Kirivorn School in Kirivorn Village in Kok Kong Province.

Bunny was born in a poor family with five members: her widow mother, an 85 year-old grandmother, a sister, and two brothers. Her mother and her father got a divorced four years ago. Her father married a new wife and then never cared for her or her siblings. Her mother is a farmer. Bunny’s mother has a piece of land for growing rice, which produces about 800 Kg of rice per year. However, she had to sell out the rice to pay back all the debt that they had spent during the farming process. The reason for Bunny’s frequent absence from school is that her family is poor and cannot afford to pay for her studies.
