Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Kim Nisa

Kim Nisa is a 12 year-old student who entered the Girls Be Ambitious program in 2013. At the time, she enrolled in the fifth grade at The Wakako Hironaka School, Rovieng District, Preah Vihear Province. She is now in the sixth grade.

Nisa is from a family of 5 members, one younger brother, her parents, and grandmother. Her mother and father is famer. Despite, the yearly harvest of paddy rice they also work as a day labor but the family still in difficulty to cover their needs.

Nisa’s parent is always away on the rice field or look for something to do to make money, so she has to take care her younger brother and her old grandmother, do chores work cooking for the family. Despite, living conditions is difficult for Nisa, she still study hard and try her best not to miss her class.

She is happy with the support from the GBA program for regular attendance.She maintains her perfect attendance.
