Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Chhie Sreymao

Chhie Sreymao is an 11-years-old student in 7th grade at The Kimino Yume Mezaseba Kanau School in Romduol village,Varin commune, Varin District, Siem Reap province.

Sreymao has six siblings, all are girls, and she is forth child in family. Her parents are farmers who own about two hectares of farmland. Unfortunately, her father has problem with his leg, so he becomes disable and cannot do much hard works like other normal men. Income of her parents is $75 per month. Sreymao has to help her mother to do housework and to take care of her younger siblings because her parents are busy with farming.
