Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Chorn Chansereyroth

Chorn Chansereyroth is a 17 years old student in 11th grade at The ASIJ School which is located in Chup Krom village, Svay Leu commune, Svay Leu district, and Siem Reap province.

Chansereyroth has gotten six members in a poor family, her mother, two older sisters, two older brothers and she is the youngest born in the family. Her father passed away by disease 4 years ago. They have one hectare of farmland for growing rice and has gotten 2 tons to 3 tons per year. They have sold one ton of this with the cost $200 for compensation of fertilizers and others. Although, they earned little income from selling rice but that income couldn’t settle the family well. Therefore, they have had to find and pick the cashew nut and gotten little benefit in order to support their family. However, the amount of that revenue still wasn’t adequate to buy food, clothes and school supplies for her schooling.
