Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Hib Norea

Hib Norea  is 17 years old, and is in grade 11th at The ASIJ School in Chup Krom village, Svay Leu commune, Svay Leu district, Siem Reap province.

Norea is the first child in the family, with two younger sisters and two younger brothers. Her father name is Chea Samreath and he is 42 years old and her mother name is Khoub Saro. She is 38 years old. They are farmers. Her family is so poor and has own half hectare of farmland for growing rice. The rice can produce 1000kg of rice per year. For this 1000kg of rice, they sold out half 500kg with the cost $100 to reimburse for the cost of fertilizers’ reimbursement to the shop owner only and they couldn’t use that income to pay for something else besides the fertilizers’ reimbursement. After that her parents still tried to fine some income from other ways in order to patch up the family’s needs. They were employed to pick the cashew nuts and sometimes they got $10 per day regarding they collected more or less cashew nuts.

She is a good students and she always get a high school in class.  In her free time, she likes to read the books and review the lessons from school.

She wants to be a Teacher when she grows up. She wants to help all the kids in her village. Moreover, she wants to earn money to support her family.
