Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

To Be Selected

Kong Sreyline is a 10 year old girl who entered the Girls Be Ambitious Program. Now, she is in her 4th grade at The Preap Sar (Dove) School in Khroch Village in Ratanakiri Province.

Sreyline is the 4th child in a family of five members. Her parents are poor farmers. They don’t own any plot of farming land. They have to work for other villagers to earn the living but it is not the regular work. Because of the poverty in the family, Sreyline was often absent from school. She had to do housework and help the family with the work. Due to these difficult conditions, she had frequently missed many classes.

With the support of the Girls Be Ambitious Program, now Sreyline has a chance to attend school again. She is very happy and maintains perfect school attendance.
