Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Ry Davan

Ry Davan is a 9-year-old student in 4th grade at The Cambodia Hope School in Melum village, Melum commune, Boribo district, Kompong Chhnang province.

Davan has one sibling, an elder sister, and she is the youngest child in family. Davan is an orphan whose father died. These days, Davan lives with her mother, elder sister and brother in-law. The main source of money is from her brother in-law who is a barber. Davan’s mother sells small freshwater clams and during harvest season, she does seasonal works such as harvesting rice and bean. Davan has to help her sister to do housework and to take care of her small child when she is busy.
