Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Brak Sopheak

Brak Sopheak is a 15-year-old student in 8th grade at The CREDO School in Ang Karnh Village, Metoek Commune, Bakan District, Pursat Province.  She lives in Opreal village, Metoek Commune, Bakan District, Pursat Province.

Sopheak is the first child in her family. She has three siblings. Her parents are farmers. They work on their land about 2 hectares and they can get about 2 ton per year. Their annual income is about USD 170 per year and their income and expense are not balance to support a whole family. After school, she helps her parents’ house work, rice field, and look after her young siblings. She sometimes works for farm to make income support her family.
