Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Chan Dara

Chan Dara is a 14 -year-old student in  8th  grade at The House of Joy and Happiness School in Thkeng village, Rohas commune, Rovieng district, Preah Vihear province.

There are three members in her family. Dara has one younger brother so she is the first child in family. However, her mother had already passed by years ago. Nowadays, she and her brother are living with her father. The three have a 14m×25m of land size where the house was built. Her father is a farmer and no other job that can earn some money. Their living is depending on the output from rice field, but they only gain 3 tons per year. Some time, her father sells the rice to get some money to support the family due to the difficult situation and no choice beside sell the rice and they can gain $500 in a ton. The income from this is only to support daily expenditure. Due to the difficult situation in her family, Dara faces the challenges in life and don’t know how to ongoing her study with the deep withstanding of her predicaments.
