Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Kean Sorphea

Sorphea is nine years old and she is in 4grade at the Phnom Toch School in Phnom Toch village Tor Tong commune Dorng Tong district Kampot province.

Sorphea has two sisters and no brother. Her parents are a farmer and their farmland depends on natural raining only. Her parents can gather eight packs of rice’s production and quantity of one sack of rice is about 400 kilogram. After, gathering rice is completely finished, her father hasn’t still stayed at home but he went to work as seasonal workers in order to get 15,000 riels per day to support his family.

In future, she wants to be a teacher because she loves education and love this career.
