Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

San Reahsmey

San Reahsmey is a 10 years old student in grade 3 at the Wahrenbrock Family School in Takeo province, Koh Andet district, Pech Sar commune, Chong Angkar village.

There are four members in her family. She has gotten one brother and she is also a second child in her family. Her current family’s living condition is very poor and doesn’t have farmland for growing rice and they do not have their own home to stay. Her father has worked as construction worker in Phnom Penh and her mother has worked as factory worker in Phnom Penh as well. Now Reahsmey has been living with her grandparents. Usually, her parents entrust a little money to support buying food and school supplies. Furthermore, Reahsmey doesn’t have enough money to buy food and school supplies. However, she always helps her grandmother’s housework every day after school and day off.

Her parents are factory worker in Phnom Penh but they send a little money to Reahsmey, some months were not given. All the payments every day such as food is her grandparents support. Especially her grandmother sells a little groceries at the school and her grandfather clamp the sugar palm right now.
