Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Koem Sreinou

Koem Sreinou  is a 14 years old student in grade 8 at the Green Family School in Takeo province, Kirivung district, Angbrasat commune, Chong Angbrasat village.

There are five members in her family. She has got three brothers and two sisters includable her. She is third child in her family. Her family is poor and her parents are farmers; they have half hectar which was produced 1000 kg of rice a year. However this is only the ideal output because they need to barter for fertilizer and other expenditures during the farming process, but the family still lives in poverty. Her parents have not enough money to buy food and school supplies for the children. Therefore, Sreinou needs to help her mother with housework and takes care the younger brother and sister every day after she is free to study.
