Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Ma Nila

Ma Nila is a 14-years-old student in 7th grade at The Kimino Yume Mezaseba Kanau School in Romduol village,Varin commune, Varin District, Siem Reap province.

Nila has four siblings, three sisters and one brother, and she is second child in family. Her parents are divorced; her father remarried and has another family, and her mother immigrates to Thailand to work. Nowadays, Nila and other siblings live with their grandparent whose income is depend on retired salary, about $30 per month. Nila has to help her old grandparents to do housework every day and take care of her grandparents because her grandparents’ health is not good and they are usually sick.
