Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Saet Sreykorb

Saet Sreykorb is a 13-year-old student in 7th grade at at The Bret Harte Middle School/Almaden Community in Sangker Doch village, Sdech Kong Tbaung commune, Banteay Meas district, Kompot province.

There are five members in her family. She has three siblings. She is the youngest child in the family. Her parents are famers. They earn little yield from their farming every year because their rice field is in rain-fed area. With this small amount of income, they cannot support their daily expense. So they need to find jobs or work for other villagers in the village to get more money to support their family. Her father takes care of two cows for their neighbor. The income they get is usually not sufficient for their needs
