Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Meas Nimol

Meas Nimol is a 9 years old student in 4th grade at The Kirivorn School in Kirivorn Village, Steng Chhay Commune, Kompong Seila District, Sihanouk Ville Province.

Meas Nimol has four siblings with two sisters and two brothers. Nimol is the older sister in her family.  Her parents work as construction worker in Phnom Penh; it is so far from her.  Nimol lives with her grandparents, aunt, and her second younger sister. Her grandparents are the farmer. They own about one hectare of farmland and the yield of rice farming is about six hundred kilograms a year. The output cannot support her family. So, this situation cannot guarantee her studying as well.  Otherwise, after school, Nimol always helps her grandparent’s housework, she also feed the hens, ducks and to guard the buffalos of her grandparent.
