Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Bun Chancheara

Bun Chanchera is a 13 year-old student who entered the Girls Be Ambitious program in February, 2016. At the time, she enrolled in the seventh grade at The CREDO School in Ang Kanh Village, Me Teuk Commune, Bakan District, Pursat Province. She is now in the eight grade.

She was born in a poor family and she is the only child in the family. Her parents were divorced. She is living with her grandmother. In the future, she dreams to become a famous singer. Her mother owns a small business and she has re-married. Her father has migrated to Thailand and works as a driver.  Living with her poor grandmother, Chancheara has been absent from school frequently because she cannot completely rely on money that her father sends her, she has to find some works to do to earn for daily demand and she also has to take care of her old grandmother.

She is very happy and maintains perfect school attendance.
