Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Va Sreyka

Va Sreyka is an 11-years-old student in 5th grade at The Takatsu Espoir School of Ta Khong village, Trien commune, Kampong Siem district, Kompong Cham porovince.

Sreyka has four siblings, three sisters and one brother, and she is second child in family. Her parents are farmer and income from farming is very small amount because their land is small, they don’t have money to buy fertilizer and they can grow rice only once a year, in rainy season. So in order to complete three meals per day for family, her father works as motor driver and he can earn a little more money for family every day. Sreyka has to help her mother to do housework and sometimes in rice field during transplanting and harvest seasons.
