Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Krien Keak

Krien Keak is a 9-year-old student in 2nd grade at The Ascham School community, in Putang village, Romnea commune, Senmonorom district, Mondulkiri province.

Krien Keak has two sisters and one brother. She is the second child in the family.  Nowadays, her parents work at the field where growing bananas and cassavas (Annual income is $500). Besides working at the bananas and cassavas field, her parents are hired to dig the well which earns 20.000 riel or $5 a day. Her father is also working at the hills rice field. However, the income isn’t regular and it isn’t enough to support the family. Krien Keak helps her mother to do house work when her mother was away.
