Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Ser Sreyka

Ser Sreyka is an 8-year-old student in 2nd grade at The Ascham School community, in Putang village, Romnea commune, Senmonorom district, Mondulkiri province.

Ser Sreyka has three sisters. She is the third child in the family. Her parents work in the field where growing cassavas. Income from growing cassavas is not enough, so her parents do some seasonal work in village such as clearing weed in cassava farm and each of them can earn about $5 a day. It is not regular. Sreyka has to help her mother to do housework and to take care of her younger sisters.
