Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Muth Theavy

Muth Theavy is a 9-year-old student in 3rd grade at The Nicholas and Zachary Poor School in Mouy village, Tropheang Chres commune, Khonmom district, Ratanakiri province.

Theavy has one sibling, a younger sister, and she is the eldest child in family. Her parents are seasonal workers. Sometimes they are hired to plant and to harvest cassava and in cashew nut harvest season, they pick cashew nuts and earn about $7.25 per day. Besides those seasonal jobs, they raise some chickens and they sell every three month. Theavy has to help her to do chores in house and to take care of her younger sister and chickens.
