Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Nhay Thary

Nhay Thary is 12 years old, grade 6 at Peam Khvav Primary School, located in Peam Khrav village, Dom Bokrong commune, Phom Srouch district and Kampong Speu province.

There are three members in the family. Nhay Thary has one young sister and her. She is the first child in her family. Her father’s name is Hoem Thorn and he was died since she was young. Her mother’s name Seim Kunthy, she is 31 years old. She is a farmer and has farmland about 15,000 m2 for growing rice. Her family takes crop yield of rice about 3,000 kg per year and they had sold for 2000kg of rice, get $500 for support their living but it still not enough for cover their expenses for the whole year. Nowadays they live in a hard situation and sometime Nhay Thary doesn’t have money to buy school supplies but she always keep trying to go to school everyday.

After school, She always help her mother to do house work and when she have free time, She likes to reading the book.

In future, Nhay Thary would like to be an accountant in the factory. She wants to earn a lot of money for helping the family and she wants to help her young sister to study Bachelor Degree.
