Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Pon Chhing Fong

Pon Chhing Fong is a 18 years old student in 9 grade at The IROHA School in O Svay village, O Svay commune, Thalaborivath district, and Stung Treng province.

Ching Fong was born in a poor family and has four brothers and sisters. She is the oldest in the family. Her parents are farmers and have about one hectare of farmland, that can produce 45 sacks per year. However, they had to sell out 25 sacks to pay back all debt that they had spend during the farming process. Event, they got income from selling rice but it have not enough for them. Often, Ching Fong, is unable to attend school because she is busy working as cashew nut picker with her neighbors.

For her future goal, she wishes to be a specialized mathematics teacher because she prefers to teach this subject to the next generation.
