Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Jill Sihak

Jill Sihak is an 8-year-old student in 2nd grade at The Ascham School community, in Putang village, Romnea commune, Senmonorom district, Mondulkiri province.

Jill Sihak has three sisters and four brothers. She is the seventh child in the family.  Nowadays, her parents work at the field where growing bananas, vegetables, hill rice (Annual income is $500). Besides working at the fields, her parents are hired to pick pepper which earns 20.000 riel or $5 a day. However, the income isn’t regular and it isn’t enough to support the big member family. Jill Sihak helps her mother to do house work when her mother was away.
