Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Peak Piek

Peak Tiek is an 19-year-old student in 12th grade at The Ascham School community, in Putang village, Romnea commune, Senmonorom district, Mondulkiri province.

Peak Tiek has 8 sisters ethnic Phnong girl and four brothers. She is the fourth child in the family.  Nowadays, her parents work at the field where growing bananas, vegetables, hill rice (Annual income is $500). Besides working at the fields, her parents are hired to clean the grass at someone farm which earns 20.000 riel or $5 a day. However, the income isn’t regular and it isn’t enough to support the very big member family. Peak Tiek helps her mother to do house work when her mother was away or when she has free time
