Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Khnol Morch

Khnol Morch is a 12 year- old student in Grade 4 at The Gloria and Henry Jarecki Special Skills School, #227, Norg Leak village, O’Chum commune, O’Chum district, Ratanakiri province.

She has three brothers. She is the second child in the family. Her parents are farmers and they have about one hectare of land for growing rice. They can produce about 800kg of rice per year, depending on the weather. However, the production is not enough for the family throughout the entire year. For additional income, her parents have to work as farm laborers in the village. Morch had to help her family with all the work around the house as well as on the farm.
