Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Huy Rina

Huy Rina is 16 years old student in 9th grade at The IROHA School which is located in O Svay village, O Svay commune, Thalaborivath district, and Stung Treng province.

Rina was born in a poor family and she has three siblings including her. She is the third born in the family. They have owned one hectare of farmland which produced 1750 kilograms of rice per year. After rice harvesting, her parents have sold 1000kgs to payback to the fertilizer shop owner and ailment treatment. Even though, this revenue did not enough to cover her normal clothes, school supplies and school uniforms. Therefore, sometimes she asks permission from school for a few days off to work with her parents in order to get more income to support her family.

For her future goal, she wishes to be a specialized mathematics, history and English language teacher because she prefers to teach these subjects to the next generation.
