Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Diev Danith

Danith is an 11-years-old student in 5th grade at The Cambodia Hope Schoolin Melum village, Melum commune, Boribo district, Kompong Chhnang province.

Her parents are farmers but the rice harvest is not enough to feed their family. Besides working in the field her mother works as a day laborer. She is also sometimes hired to harvest rice, with these extra jobs she can earn $4.5 per day. Her father always goes to catch fish, which they use to cook for their daily meal. Danith has to look after her younger siblings and do housework after class.
