Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Leang Kheb

Leang Kheb is an 8-year-old student in 2nd grade at The Ascham School community in Putang village, Romnea commune, Senmonorom district, Mondulkiri province.

Leang Kheb has three sisters. She is the first child in the family. Her parents work in the field where growing cashew and rice (Annual income is $500). Besides working in the field, her parents are hired to pick pepper which earns 20.000 riel or $5 a day. However, the income isn’t regular and it isn’t enough to support the family. Leang Kheb helps her mother to do house work when her mother is away.
