Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Len Savoeurn is a 13 year- old student in Grade 5 at The R.S. Rosenfeld School in Srah Khvav Village, Tbeng commune, Banteay Srey District, Siem Reap Province.

She has three brothers. She is the fourth child in the family. Her mother died while she was delivering Savoeurn. Savoeurn and her brothers are living with her widower father. Her father is a day-to-day laborer in the village. He earns a little money from pulling out the potatoes, chopping the potatoes, and collecting the potatoes and doing other jobs for the neighbors. Savoeurn likes her studies but she cannot regularly attend class because she must help her father to do house work and cook meals when her father is away at work.
