Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Ngoun Srolas

Ngoun Srolas is a fourteen years old student in ninth grade of The Kimino Yume Mezaseba Kanau school in Varin district, Siem Reap province.

Srolas has seven siblings, three sister and four brothers, and she is forth child in family. Her parents are farmers and they own one hectare of farmland. Besides doing rice farm, they work as seasonal worker during harvest seasons to earn more money. Thus in busy seasons, they can earn about 400000 riel per month or 100 dollar, but this amount is not regular. Because Srolas is not grown-up enough to work in rice field, she responds to do housework and to take care of her younger siblings.
