Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Kes Lina

Kes Lina is a 15-years-old student in the 8th grade at The Kimino Yume Mezaseba Kanau School in Romduol village,Varin commune, Varin District, Siem Reap province, Cambodia.

Lina has five siblings, three sisters and two brothers, and is third child in family. Linna and her five siblings live with their mother, as their father passed away a few years ago.  Lina’s mother works as a farmer trying to support her family, but it is not enough to adequately support the children.  As a result, Lina’s family is very poor.  On some days, Lina has to stay home from school to help with her siblings, house chores, and sometimes in the rice field.  Lina hopes that one day she can be a teacher and make a strong influence on her students.
