Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Song Eng

Song Eng is a 17-years-old student in 7th grade in The Naohriro Nishiya School in Tbaung Teuk village, Meanrith commune, Sondann district, Kompong Thom province.

Eng has five siblings, four sisters and one brother, and she is second child in family. Her parents work as cassava harvesters and each of them can earn between $2.5 to $5 per three days. This is not a permanent job, so they have to move from one farm to another farm where labor force is needed. That is why they work far away from their house often. When their parents are busy with their works, Eng has to help her parents by doing housework and taking care of her younger siblings.
