Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Sorn Ly Sivmey

Sorn Ly Sivmey is a 10 years old student in 4th grade at The Vasaskolan School in Angbaksey village, CheangToung commune, Tram Kak district, Takeo province.

Ly Sivmey has 4 siblings, two brothers and two sisters. She is the first child in the family. There are six members in Ly Sivmey’s family. Her parents are famer. They own 30A of farmland which produces 10 sacks of rice. Her family’s income is $ 75.00 per month. She helps her parents to cook and take a good care of her siblings. It keeps her busy and be away from school frequently. Despite of poverty, she has big dream. In the future, she wants to be a teacher.
