Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Chhun Kea

Chhun Kea is a 12 years old student in 5th grade at The Lefkowitz Family School in Tram She Village, Beung Bat Kandol commune, Bakan District, and Pursat Province.

Chhun Kea has gotten five siblings: two sisters and two brothers. She is the third child in the family. Her parents are farmers; they have gotten 2 hectares owned farmland that is very far from the house.  Because of their land are far from the house so some years they can get 1.500Kg of rice for eating and renting the machine but some years they can’t get it. After they have harvested rice, they work for other people such as chopping cassavas in the village. Her family was trying to work hard but they would not earn much money to completing their family needs. In the future, she wants to be a good of English teacher.
