Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Cheurn Sreynang

Cheurn Sreynang is a 13-years-old student in 6th grade at The Lefkowitz Family School in Beung Bat Kandol village, Beung Bat Kandol commune, Bakan district, Pursat province.

Sreynang has three siblings, and she is the second child in her family. Her mother is a farmer her, name Rom Chantha, ages 32 and her father passed away. Her sister stopped study when followed her mother to work at Thailand. Her mother send money home 20,000 Bat or 30,000 Bat for Sreynang for food and for schools materials. Sadly, sometime mother and sister were cheated by Thai owners they do not pay them so she has no money to send home. Sreynang always spend her free time to help villagers’ works in order to get some money. She lives with her grandmother she is a rice farmer. Sreynang is struggling throw difficulties in order to keep her going to school.
