Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Ouk Srey Neath

Ouk Srey Neath is a 12-years-old student in 4th grade at The Kirivorn School in Kirivorn Village, Steng Chhay Commune, Kompong Seila District, Sihanouk Ville Province.

She has three siblings and she is a second sister of her siblings. Her parents were divorced for years. She now lives with her mother, grandmother and her sisters. There are six members in her whole family. Her mother is a coffee shop worker. She earns only $80 a month.  Her grandmother and mother do not have farmland. Her grandmother works as a housemaid in her village when someone needs her. She gets around $2 or $3 a day. Her family situation is very difficult and she is challenging with her living and studying because the living conditions of her family base on her mother and grandmother.
