Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Kae Srey Leap

Kae Srey Leap is a 13-years old student in 5th grade in Kirivorn School in Kirivorn village, Steng Chhay commune, Kampong Sela distirct, Preah Sihanouk province. 

Srey Leap has four siblings with three sisters and one brother. She is the youngest sister in her family. Srey Leap lives with seven members of her whole family. Her father is a logger. He always goes to the forest to cut the small trees to make the handle knives, hoes, spades and many other tools. He gets about $4 or $5 per day. Srey Leap’s mother is a housewife. She takes care of her house and her children. She also feed chickens at home. Three or four months she can sell few these to get money to support her family. Her parents do not own any farmlands. Srey Leap does not have much time and enough money for studying.
