Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

To Be Selected

Srey Roth is 13 years old, studies in the 7th grade at The Svay Chek Secondary School, located in Anlong Spean village, Svay Chek Commune, Romdoul District, Svay Rieng province.

Srey Roth has 4 siblings and she is the second child in the family. Her father‘s name is Mr. Chhin Vanna and her mother’s name is Mom Dany, both of them are farmers. The family owns one hectare of farmland in which they can earn up to $300 a year in rice product. As this is not enough to support the family’s needs, Srey Roth’s father commonly has to work for other jobs like carry the sack of cement at the vender shop. He can earn $5 or $6 a day. Not the above income are enough to support the family and their children’s study needs. Therefore, Srey Roth has to miss school to help taking care her siblings or help in the rice field and other housework.

She wants to be a police; she thinks that a police could solve all the problems for her relative in community.
