Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Doung Pheach

Doung Pheach is a 15-year-old student in 7th grade at The Bret Harte Middle School/Almaden Community in Chhrung Salao village, Sdechkong Kang Chherng commune, Banteay Meas district, Kompot province.

She is the seventh child in the family and she has seven siblings. Her parents do farming and also raise two cows. These jobs earn so small that’s not enough to support family. Her parents find other job as worker to make more money for family. She sometimes was absent from school to help her parents in the rice fields and helping house works. They sometimes don’t have enough money to buy good foods to eat. In despite of being poor, she still has a dream to graduate from university.
