Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Thoun Rachhy

Thoun Rachhy is a 10 year-old student in 4 grade at The Lefkowitz Family School in Tram She Village, Beung Bat Kandol commune, Bakan District, and Pursat Province.

Thoun Rachhy has two sisters and she is the first child in her family. Her parents are farmers. They work at their own rice field with one hectare of the land size. At home, they feed three buffalos. Rachhy’s family is living by base on the nature, as well as crop the rice. Because of the rainy season is not good in the year, cause the challenge to farmers especially Rachhy’s family. Rachhy’s parents have to move to find another job temporary to earn some money to survive in short term. Some time, they have to go farther because it is too difficult to find a job. On father’s part of Rachhy, he move from place to place to buy fish and bring it to sell at the market for earn some money to support the family. But this business is often went collapsed, when no one buy his fish. Because, Rachhy’s family doesn’t have a core income, so most of the time, can call life time is struggling.
