Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Srorn Sreynoun

Srorn Sreynoun is a 9-year-old student in 3nd grade at The Ascham School community, in Putang village, Romnea commune, Senmonorom district, Mondulkiri province.

Srorn Sreynoun has six sisters and six brothers. She is the 8th child in the family.  Nowadays, her parents work at the field where growing cassavas (Annual income is $500). Besides working at the cassavas field, bananas field which earns 20.000 riel or $5 a day. Her father is also working at the rice cashew just a small farm. However, the income isn’t regular and it isn’t enough to support the family. Srorn Sreynoun helps her mother to do house work and look after younger sisters when her mother was away.
