Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Kha Veasna

Kha Veasna is 15 years old student in 9th grade at The IROHA School which is located in O Svay village, O Svay commune, Thalaborivath district, and Stung Treng province.

She has two siblings including her. She is the second born in the family. Her family have owned a small farmland to produce the rice and get 300kg per year. Veasna said that her parents hadn’t sold any rice after the harvesting because it has not had enough for a whole year consumption. Hence, her parents have planted vegetables and sold it to make more income. Sometimes, she asked permission from school for a few days off to sell vegetables in the market.

For her future goal, she wishes to be a specialized mathematics and biology teacher because she prefers to teach these subjects to the next generation.
