Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Nget Sreytoch

Nget Sreytoch is 16 years old student in 9th grade at The IROHA School which is located in O Svay village, O Svay commune, Thalaborivath district, and Stung Treng province.

Sreytoch was born in a poor family and she has gotten six siblings including her. She is the third born in the family. They have owned a small rice paddy which produced 250kg of rice per year. This rice doesn’t enough to feed her family for a whole year. Therefore her parents has worked part time worker to get a little profit to feed the children. Sometimes Sreytoch asks permission for a few days off  from school to work with her parents get some income to settle the family’s needs.

For her future goal, she wishes to be a teacher of Khmer literature because she prefers to teach this subject to the next generation.
