Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

San Sokleng

San Sokleng is a 10 years old student in grade 4 at the Wahrenbrock Family School in Takeo province, Koh Andet district, Pech Sar commune, Chong Angkar village.
Sokleng has gotten seven members in the family, her grandparents, three brothers and two sisters including her. She is the fourth child in the family. Her parents get divorced for long time ago. Her mother had a new husband and her father also had a new wife. But right now, she has been living with her father’s grandparents because her parents have never supported money or food to her siblings and her. Her grandparents are poor and they have a little farmland because they already divided ones to sons, daughters and grandchildren. Currently, they have had small business at home, they have sold least things at home and they have earned revenue between $2.50 and $3.50 per day. However, she has always helped her grandmother for the chore and sold things every day after school and day off.
