Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Suy Sreinit

Suy Sreinit is a 10 years old student in grade 4 at the Wahrenbrock Family School in Takeo province, Koh Andet district, Pech Sar commune, Chong Angkar village.

There are five members in her family. She has got two brothers and she is the youngest child in her family. Her family is very poor, they don’t have farmland and they don’t have their own shelter also. Recently, her father is employed to work in Phnom Penh as the construction worker and her mother has worked as factory worker in Phnom Penh too. Now Sreinit has been living with her grandparents. Her parents usually entrust a little money to support buying food and school supplies. Her grandmother has worked as pulling out the rice and transplanting the rice. Furthermore, Sreinit doesn’t have enough money to buy food and school supplies during she is studying at school. Because of these reasons overhead, she was absent from school sometimes, due to help her grandmother do chore.
