Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Sek Phally

Sek Phally is a 14 year old student in grade 8 at the Green Family School in Takeo province, Kirivung district, Angbrasat commune, Chong Angbrasat village.

Phally has a brother and sister, and is the middle child in her family.  Phally’s parents own half a hector of land, which can produce up to 1000kg of rice annually, but the land is expensive to maintain, which leaves her family to live in poverty.  Phally’s family does not have the funds to financially support the children’s needs such as providing food and school supplies.  When Phally is not in school, she needs to help her mother tend to house chores and take care of her younger brother everyday.
