Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Ka Chakriya

Ka Chakriya is a 13 -year-old student in 7th grade at The Bret Harte Middle School/Almaden Community in Sangker Doch village, Sdech Kong Tbaung commune, Banteay Meas district, Kompot province.

She is the third child in the family and she has three siblings. She is an orphan whose father died long time ago. Her mother is a farmer.  Her mother raises two cows. She is now living in small house with her mother and her older siblings in Songkaedoch village, Sdechkong kang Tborg commune, Bonteaymes district and Kompot province. Her mother does farming and uses this small income to support everyone in family, but this money is not enough for them to survive. They cannot buy good foods.
