Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Tim Kakada

Tim Kakada is a 12-year-old student in 7th grade at The Bret Harte Middle School/Almaden Community in Sangker Doch Village, Sdech Kong Tbaung Commune, Banteay Meas District, Kompot Province.

She is the second child in the family and she has two siblings. They do not have their own land for growing rice. Therefore, they rent their neighbor’s land for farming. Their yearly harvest is about 500kg of rice, but they have to return half of that rice to the landowner. Because of not enough supporting in family, she sometimes is absent from school to help her parents to make more income to support.
