Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Mut Bonna

Mut Bonna is a 13 year old student in grade 7 at the Green Family School in Takeo province, Kirivung district, Angbrasat commune, Chong Angbrasat village.

Bonna is the eldest of her younger brother and sister.  Her family is poor, and they do not own any farmland.  Bonna’s mother stays home to take care of the house and children, while her father works as a village laborer.  As a result, Bonna’s family has very little income to support every day necessities, such as providing an adequate diet for the children and school supplies.  When Bonna is not at school, she helps her mother with housework and tending to her younger siblings.
